Clacton on sea is located within the district of Tendring, and is the largest town in the Tendring peninsular. The seaside provides a strong day trip contingent, which provides a considerable support to the local economy.

Our clients run the local restaurant which is situated in a prominent location within the town, the lower promenade next to the pier. Our brief was to undertake a scheme of refurbishment and improvement to the existing structure which was substantially built in the 1950’s.

GROW designed a simple program of upgrades to the building, including the provision of a new raised terrace and lift to the first floor which could be converted into a conference centre. Glass balustrades would replace existing with stainless steel handrails. Timber cladding added internally, and a full redecoration.

We understand the scheme is under consideration.
